Year Composed:  2005

Program Notes:

Hot House is a caricature portrayal of a prohibition era party at a speakeasy where the gathering starts off quietly but quickly builds to a wild night.  The party creates so much heat that a Fire Engine is sent screaming through town to put out the inferno.  Chaos ensues as the fire burns hot, the patrons flee, and the authorities arrive.  Hot House was composed for Leo Potts and the California State University, Long Beach, Saxophone Ensemble with thanks and gratitude for all of the great times and the great education.
